OUR HISTORY
Some where in the year 2000 when the Tema Women's Movement leaders and Deaconesses met at their usual quarterly prayers and fasting meeting at Kpone, the idea of establishing a long term welfare scheme for the women was mooted. It was during the open discussing on how to manage such a scheme that the Credit Union concept popped up.
Those present at that meeting included Aps. Sepha-Thompson (the then Area Women's Movement Pastor), Deaconesses Beatrice Adu Donkor, (Area Leader), Emelia Doku (Secretary), Miriam Djan (Treasurer), Agness Narh , Lydia Ayitevie and Martha Yeboah, all finance Committee members and the various district leaders in the church. A four member committee comprising Miriam Djan (Leader), Beatrice Adu Donkor, Deaconesses Annor and Asare Djan was constituted to laise with CUA Head Office to help in the organisation of the union. e Women's Leadership meetings which cumulated in the establishment of the Credit Union which was called Tema Area Apostolic Church Co-operative Credit Union (TAACCCU) in the year 2000.
A seven (7) member Board Directors made up of Deaconess Martha Yeboah (Chairperson), Deacon R. Solomon (Secretary), Elder Paul Aidoo-Ansah (Financial Secretary), Elder Setorglo, Deaconess Beatrice Adu Donkor, Deaconess Mary Arhin, Miriam Dyan was appointed to direct the affairs of the Union and the Board of Directors subsequently appointed Elder Geyevu and Sister Mary Mamley Tetteh as the initial staff with Elder Humphrey Teye and others assisting as volunteers. After the first auditing by CUA, the Board decided t appoint a full-time manager to oversee the affairs of the Union. Mr Stephen Adjetey Soway was the apointed in 2008 as the first Manager of the Union. The premier Board of directors served till 2012 when the current Board took over from them. |

To Mobilize savings from members with the purpose of ensuring that members build up savings for a better standard of living both now and in the future. Today pay back savings on demand to members with interest at competitive rate.
